Building books are more than just as-built documentation!

At the latest with the accident surrounding the collapse of an ice rink in Bad Reichenhall in January 2006, the discussion about ensuring the safety of buildings was brought into focus.

At the time, 15 people lost their lives and 34 others were injured. As a result, the VDI guideline 6200 was created to verify and check the stability of buildings. This event led to a rethink among many of those responsible. Since then, VDI Guideline 6200 has been the benchmark for the “stability of buildings”. It clearly formulates both the specifications for as-built documentation and the requirements for inspectors.
