The challenge

GE is a global industrial group headquartered in Cambridge, MA, USA, with around 75,000 employees worldwide and global sales in 2024 of approx. 35 billion US dollars.

GE Vernova Berlin produces frequency converters for industrial applications at its Berlin site with over 500 employees. In 2021, the site management of General Electric Vernova required an audit on the degree of fulfillment of operator responsibility in facility management and in the HSE area as part of a change of service provider.

The solution

Based on a comprehensive audit of the GE Vernova production and administration site in Cullemeyerstrasse in Berlin, Facility Manager Peter Schmidt carried out a comparison between the legal and internal Group requirements and the operational performance on site. The results were presented to the site management and those responsible for HSE. Following the audit, Peter Scjmidt provided further support in the areas of site cleaning, sprinkler renovation and relocation planning.
