The challenge
Klepierre’s acquisition of the entire portfolio of the Dutch company Corio in 2015 meant that the five shopping centers in Germany also had to be transferred to the Group-wide standard for facility management, occupational health and safety, environmental protection and sustainability management.
The solution
Thanks to Peter Schmidt’s commitment, it was initially possible to introduce and establish occupational health and safety in accordance with German regulations and the requirements of the employers’ liability insurance association. The implementation of operator responsibility was then standardized and specified using a CAFM solution, reporting for environmental and sustainability issues was introduced and the non-core business services were bundled and put out to tender on the market. Other sustainability projects such as the introduction of EMAS for Forum Duisburg and the recertification of the shopping centers in accordance with BREAM were successfully completed.
