Technologieförderung Münster

The challenge

Technologieförderung Münster GmbH is a subsidiary of Wirtschaftsförderung Münster GmbH and offers both young and established companies ideal conditions for further growth and networked structures. Due to a short-term staff shortage prior to the start of employment of the new facility manager, a period of four months had to be bridged for the technical operation of approx. 30,000 m² of laboratory and office space (spread over 5 buildings in the north of Münster).

The solution

After being trained by the outgoing facility manager, Peter Schmidt was able to take over the technical management of the regular operation of the five buildings (mainly special buildings) in a timely and cost-effective manner. In addition to day-to-day business, projects such as a fire safety assessment of a kitchen, the refurbishment of a vacant rental space or coordination with the professional fire department following a fire inspection also had to be handled. The repair of unplanned disasters was also a typical challenge in the day-to-day work of a facility manager during the interim management of the buildings and properties. When the new Technical Director of Technology Funding took up his position, the projects were handed over in a structured manner and Facility Manager Peter Schmidt was able to withdraw from support and technical management, except for a few issues.
