Sustainability

Sustainability is understood to mean that the consumption of raw materials and energy is considered in terms of environmental protection and consideration for future generations. In addition to the purely financial result orientation, companies must also take into account aspects such as biodiversity, healthy workplaces, functioning ecosystems, animal and species protection, compliance with (local) laws relating to occupational health and safety, exclusion of child labor, freedom of association for employees and other sustainable factors. The aim of sustainability is to reconcile economic activity with a balanced consumption of resources.

EU taxonomy

The EU Taxonomy is a new set of regulations from the European Union with the aim, among other things, of achieving climate neutrality in Europe by 2050. The EU Taxonomy came into force on 01.01.2022 and, as a scientifically sound instrument, is intended to help investors and operators of real estate to achieve sustainable business practices in the future.

(CSR) stands for the social responsibility of all companies with regard to sustainable business practices. In contrast to the term “sustainability”, the term CSR is (in theory) more specific and should be understood to refer to the actual contribution that a company makes to sustainability in the implementation of its business processes.

The abbreviation ESG stands for Environmental Social Governance. Similar to CSR, ESG refers to an evaluation of corporate activities with regard to sustainable management and acting in harmony with a balanced consumption of resources.
